Missing Clock

If for some unknown reason your clock is missing from the notification area, it may be necessary to get creative with getting it back.  If you attempt to change the notification settings and you get a permission error, the only solution is to edit the registry.

1. Locate the key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2

2. Edit the Settings value

3. You will see a value that looks similar to:

28 00 00 00 ff ff ff ff 02 00 00 00 03 00 00 00 6d 00 00 00 20 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 03 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 04 00 00

The 9th hex value changes how the taskbar behaves.  Change it to be 09 to bring the clock back.
